older folksTell Out My Soul is the theme for this year’s Stewardship Campaign.

Luke’s Gospel is bookended by the animated story-telling of two women named Mary. Mary the mother of Jesus, tells us of her encounter with the Divine who informs her that she will bear a child who will change the world. At the end of the Gospel, Mary Magdalene visits the tomb to discover it empty and receives instructions from the Risen Christ to go tell the others.

What is your Good News: the idea, dream, challenge placed in your heart by God that needs to be shared?

We are all part of this ongoing narrative – the ongoing Creation. As you pray about how you will share your gifts with us this year, think about how God is calling you to tell out your soul, to spread the Good News far and wide.

Every gift from you is a miracle. And every gift is Love, the kind of love that protects, trusts, hopes and perseveres. It’s easy and secure to pledge regular contributions online.

Ireland: A Celtic Pilgrimage 2022

PRICE DROP! Save over $500 on the Celtic Pilgrimage of Ireland!

Booking is now open for Ireland: A Celtic Spirituality Pilgrimage, from Sunday, September 11, returning on Thursday, September 22, 2022, now only $4,399, a savings of almost $600 per person.

During the first week of November, the airlines allowed booking for group travel in September 2022; Betty Ann Buckley, our booking agent for all our pilgrimage trips, has secured below estimated costs for air travel for next year’s pilgrimage to Ireland. This also allows for people to originate from other airports (plus any airfare adjustments) or pay for upgrades in seating, yet remain part of the group.
The new airfare lowers the price of the pilgrimage to $4,399, for 12 days of travel, roundtrip airfare and coach and driver in Ireland, superior tourist class hotel stays, full Irish cooked breakfasts, evening dinners, all entrance fees and taxes included. The updated brochure is attached. We have one-third of our seats taken already by early registrations—be sure to book now to avoid future disappointment!

Starting in Western Ireland we visit Clonmacnoise, Kilrush, and the cliffs of Kilkee. Then to Craggaunowen and the Hill of Slane, where St. Patrick lit the Paschal fire in 433; the town of Kells, where the Book of Kells was written; Down Cathedral in Downpatrick, the resting place of St. Patrick; the Hill of Tara; Dunluce and Corrymeela; among other places, ending with full days in Belfast and Dublin.

You are invited to join us on this pilgrimage of Ireland, the birthplace of Celtic Christianity. Together, let us walk in the steps of the Celtic saints who spread Christianity across Celtic lands from the early fifth and sixth centuries, whose influence lasts even today.

Christians from all denominations have been inspired and amazed at the rediscovery of the story of how the Gospel came to Ireland and from Ireland to the British Isles.

ClonmacnoiseWe will look at why this Celtic expression of Christianity is so exciting and relevant for today, and why the hierarchy of the church struggled with insights that we are now embracing again.

The attachment contains a detailed itinerary but stops include: Clonmacnoise; founded in 544 by Saint Ciarán, the location of this monastery along the River Shannon helped it became one of the most famous places in Ireland. Other historic places we’ll visit include, Kilrush, known as “the Church of the Woods,” to hear the stories of St. Columba and St. Brendan; the cliffs of Kilkee; Craggaunowen and the Hill of Slane, where St. Patrick lit the Paschal fire in 433; the town of Kells, where the Book of Kells was written; Down Cathedral in Downpatrick, the traditional burial site of St. Patrick, St. Brigid, and St. Columba; the Hill of Tara; Dunluce and Corrymeela; ending with full days in Belfast and Dublin, from which we fly home.

Once again, the Rev’d Simon Airey will accompany us on our journey (Meet your guide). An Anglican priest, professional storyteller, and a member of the Northumbria Community, Simon will introduce us to some of the characters, held in such affection, that have deeply imprinted Christianity across the Emerald Isle and experience the stories of those places in those places and in other sacred spots—“thin places”—where heaven touched the earth. We will look at why this Celtic expression of Christianity is so exciting and relevant for today. This pilgrimage will be as memorable as it is entertaining and spiritually enlightening.

If your trip begins from a place other than Arizona, please contact Betty Ann Buckley from ALPHA Christian Tours by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange roundtrip airfare from your nearest major airport.

Book early to avoid disappointment, as seating is limited on this 12-day pilgrimage. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me at (623) 584-0350.

Peace and good things,

Canon Timothy+
